They didn’t gamble on this

AN evening out in PE turned into a nightmare for a Jeffreys Bay couple last Saturday.
Theuns and Su- zann Potgieter were at the casino on the Boardwalk, hoping it would be their lucky night.
It wasn‘t. Six armed men burst in after threatening security staff at the entrance.
The Herald, sister paper of the Our Times was on the scene and reported that Suzann could not hold back the tears as she recounted the events.
“My husband and I were gambling and we heard a loud shot and saw three armed men walking towards us. I was so scared I could not believe this was happening to us.
I just left all our things right there, grabbed my husband and ran as fast as I could out of there.”
Theuns, said he was not really surprised at what was happening, because it is something happening “all over the country”.
Lovemore Dube, 28, one of the gang members took three staff members hostage after he became trapped in a cashier‘s office when the door slammed shut, he eventually gave up and was arrested
CCTV footage later revealed that the other five men made their escape in the crowds while the casino was being evacuated, and are still at large.
Questions have now been raised about security at the complex after the second incident in as many years.
But the casino‘s general manager, Clifford Ngakane, denied any such claims and said that security was indeed up to scratch.
Dube appeared in court on Tuesday. - HANRIE BOSCH

Casino Security

A poorly trained, unarmed guy with pepper spray and a nightstick is NOT security Mr. Clifford Ngakane, and if your security was alert they would have spotted these low living stinking animals as they made their way thru' the complex, and alerted everyone before the s#&t went down....

Catch a wake up 'Boardwalk', hire a firm of professionals to do a professionals job, not a bunch of poorly trained, ill equipped wannabe security guards, who sit at the doors scanning peoples bodies with a wand, and checking woman's handbags, they are normally so busy chatting to their mates they don't even know the time of the day. I see them all the time.
